The Georis Vineyard Estate crown jewel is hand selected from a single parcel sitting on the lower river bench of the land. There, the roots of the thirty year old vines capture the minerals from the river rocks as they penetrate the deep soil horizons. It is the combination of the Carmel Valley microclimate and this unique terroir that produces exceptional wine grapes, unveiling the full potential of the vineyard in the glass. This wine showcases the finest in Carmel Valley terroir, with deep historic ties to Bordeaux and a classic winemaking style that allows true expression of the grapes’ character.
True to the very unique style of the Clos des Moutons, the vintage 2007 offers a nose of licorice, dark chocolate, olives, orange rind and fresh tobacco leaves. The mouth is earthy, dense, and full bodied with nuances of spices and ripe plum. the finish is refreshingly dry and chalky.
